I really enjoyed the game. Don't want to spoil anything, as the feeling of discovery was a major part of my enjoyment.

Never did complete all puzzles, that was a bit too much, maybe I'll give it another whirl...

I recently completed The Return of Obra Dinn, based on recommendations from here, which I also really liked. And The Talos Principle really blew me away.

Anyone have any other similar-ish puzzle game recommendations?

Being a big fan of the games you mentioned I can fully recommend "Outer Wilds", as it gave me great joy of puzzle and exploration and thinking logically about solutions and the expertly crafted world, hints are given almost purely through the environment in a "If this thing A works like this, maybe this other thing B can be manipulated in a similar manner" fashion. It is hard to talk too much about the game as it is heavily spoilable.

However I have to add that while I feel it is very similar in its spirit (learn the logical rules of the world by doing, apply and combine them to solve new situations), it adds a layer of dexterity into the equation (flying a space ship and jumping around) and moves at a faster pace, time being a relevant factor in its exploration and puzzles.

Also of course if you have not played it already: Braid, the first game made by Jonathan Blow.

Thanks!

I was about to play Outer Wilds but their recommendation to go with a controller made me postpone it. I just realized I can use my NVIDIA Shield for streaming it though so I'll do that.

Will check out Braid as well, somehow missed that.

Myst and its sequels, including its spiritual sequel Obduction (it's more modern and avoids some of the 90s pitfalls of the older ones).

Antichamber was a game that was a bit too brain whack for me to get into but I have friends who swear by it.

I'm also going to throw out a honorable mention to What Remains of Edith Finch, it's more walking simulator than an actual puzzle game, but it definitely has a lot of discovery and IMO sets the bar for that genre.

But yeah if Lucas Pope could be cracking on the Obra Dinn cinematic universe I'd appreciate it lol. I've bought at least 6 copies of that game for various people at full price, absolutely my favorite game I've ever played.
